Stars - meanings and definitions

"A star is an image, not a real person, that is constructed (just like any other fiction) from a range of materials."

Stars funtion as a signifier. They mediat a single, specifiable meaning.
Stars are also  'structured polysemies' - They contain 'a multiplicity of meanings and effects'. Some are foreground, some are masked -GOD GIVEN TALENT-
